Target Language Warm-up Chants, Part 2
Do you have a good routine for beginning your French or Spanish class? This year, Denise and I have been using some quick warm-up chants that get the students focused on using the target language. You can read about the first one here, which is a catchy reminder that learning French and Spanish is fun and while we are doing it, we don’t speak English. :)
The second chant is a little different, centering around 10 useful expressions that will help the students reach that goal. Chanting this daily with our classes, it’s been fun to see how quickly the students actually start using the expressions in an authentic way!
Check out the chants here:
To make these expressions even more accessible to your students, we have created some fun posters and desk strips to go along with them. They are available on TPT. The products include:
- a link to the chant
- 10 fun posters to display in your classroom.
- desk strips in two sizes (these could be taped to a desk or to a folder or workbook.)
- a student handout with all the expressions
We hope these resources add a little more speaking motivation and empowerment to your classroom!
